Background
UNICEF Nederland is one of the national committees representing UNICEF International, the children's charity working in more than 190 countries. Founded in 1955, the Dutch committee raises funds that go directly toward giving children around the world the chance to survive and develop. It also holds the Dutch government to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and co-founded the Kinderrechtencollectief, a coalition of children's rights organizations.
A globally recognized brand carries decades of trust and credibility. UNICEF Nederland needed that reputation to come through in every piece of communication it sent, including something as small as an email signature. Managing Microsoft 365 email signatures through native transport rules alone made that hard to guarantee.
Before & after
Before
Signatures built and updated manually through Microsoft 365 transport rules
No way to preview a signature design before it went live
Brand consistency left to chance across every user
Signature management eating into a small ICT team's time
After
Every email signature centrally controlled from one platform
One on-brand template applied automatically across the organization
No more manual transport-rule building
Full rollout completed in half a day, with no external help needed
UNICEF Nederland's challenge
UNICEF Nederland needed one place to control every Microsoft 365 email signature and guarantee it matched the organization's corporate identity, something Microsoft 365's native tools couldn't reliably deliver.
The ICT and facilities team faced a few specific problems:
Manual signature management: Microsoft 365's native transport rules have to be built and maintained by hand, with no way to preview the result before it reaches an inbox.
Brand risk: A global charity's reputation is one of its biggest assets, and an inconsistent or poorly formatted signature puts that at risk on every email sent.
Limited IT resources: Email signature management had to work without pulling time away from a small team's other priorities.
No dedicated tool on the market: When the team searched for a third-party solution, Exclaimer was the only one they found built specifically for Microsoft 365 email signature management.
The results
200
email signatures unified under one on-brand template
1/2 day
to deploy across the whole organization
3
additional UNICEF National Committees also running Exclaimer
How Exclaimer helped
Exclaimer gave UNICEF Nederland one place to control every Microsoft 365 email signature, built around a template designed to match its brand. What used to depend on manually maintained transport rules became a process the ICT and facilities team could run themselves.
With Exclaimer, UNICEF Nederland can:
Manage every email signature from one location, rather than piecing together Microsoft 365 transport rules by hand.
Apply a consistent, on-brand template across every account, protecting the UNICEF identity on every email sent.
Deploy without outside help, completing the full rollout in half a day using Exclaimer's self-serve resources.
Scale the same model to other committees, giving the UK, Germany, and New Zealand National Committees a template to follow.
